1. A Statement From Joe Walsh...

"It was my understanding that I was playing a concert which was a non partisan event to benefit the families of American veterans on Monday, July 18 in Cleveland. The admat I approved said this specifically. Today it was announced that this event is in fact a launch for the Republican National Convention. In addition my name is to be used to raise sponsorship dollars for convention-related purposes. Therefore I must humbly withdraw my participation in this event, with apologies to any fans or veterans and their families that I may disappoint. I was misled as to the event's true purpose. I am very concerned about the rampant vitriol, fear-mongering and bullying coming from the current Republican campaigns, it is isolationist and spiteful. I cannot in good conscience endorse the Republican party in any way. I will look at doing a veteran related benefit concert later this year."

Thank you Boston!!! A great place to end my Toor dates for 2015!! Boston is special to me because I have lots of friends and family there, including Celeste and Kevin Corcoran, who I got to welcome on stage. On my last record I wrote a song called "Family" and in the early weeks after the Boston Marathon bombing they reached out to thank me and told me how my song carried them through the process of putting their lives back together. I am incredibly humbled and honored that my music in any small way could bring people happiness, hope and healing. We have been friends ever since and their lives in turn have incredibly inspired me.

  5. The Channel Islands, and Santa Cruz in particular, are very special to me. I have been going there for over four decades, and like so many naturally beautiful places on earth, they need our protection. It has been my honor to try and help preserve this pristine island along with it's history, and participate in Santa Cruz's yearly Mass to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Cross along with Monsignor Francis Weber. Here is a link to a conversation we recently had, and a page where you can see some of the great work that is being done:
